10:59 am There is a kind of cute girl sitting across from me by the Macs in the library wearing a Matt and Kim shirt. I wonder if she knows that they played at my house. She probably doesn't.

03:49 pm The last few days of this trip have been sort of boring and stressful. I started running out of money around the same time we had to get a tune up for the van and were told a bunch of stuff was wrong with it. The dudes in oakland said it would be 600 dollars to replace parts but Bryan's dad thinks its bullshit.
I'm having to borrow money from my parents and stay with family for a week while bryan is on tour with Gather. I'm a little nervouse about staying with them, I don't want them to feel like i'm using them, although I sort of am. I'm hoping I can entertain myself for the week bryan is away. I'm planning on riding the bart to random parts of the bay area and exploring alone. I might call this dude i met Dominic and see if he wants to show me around.
We got into santa cruz last night and found our way to the local Gather house where we found 3 members of the band inside. There were a bunch of other people I obviously didn't know but they all seemed relatively nice. There were too many people sleeping inside so we found a place to park the van down the street. I had to pee almost immediatly and couldn't find the house so I tried to go outside but constantly people kept walking by or cars came by making me nervous. At about 8 am a cop knocked on the window and told us there is no camping in this area. I thought it was funny that he would tell us that because we obviously were not camping. There were no smores or campfire songs. Only a swollen bladder and uncomfortable bench seats. We moved, went back to sleep, woke up a few hours later and eventually found a bathroom that seemed like a mirage to me. It was very nice.
I have been sitting at this trendy little coffee house that reminds me of zotz back in new orleans for a few hours messing around on my computer and noticing that 80 percent of the girls that come in here are very cute. We're about to go to trader joes to buy food to cook. This sounds great right now. Current Location: Santa Cruz, Ca Current Music: Ein Dutches Requiem/ Evening in Stalingrad

12:51 am - Bryce We got into Santa Barbara at about 11 at night and found out we'd have place to stay. We're staying with a guy from Gather in his parents house. Super nice really expensive looking house.
The drive down from Berkeley was pretty amazing after we got out of the windy mountain roads. We took the ocean route almost the whole way down and stopped a few times to take pictures and look at stuff.

09:20 pm Today I:
- Woke up at 12:30, which means I don't get to get free food from the dining hall and have to wait until it opens back up at 5. I took Dave Hamilton's suggestion of microwaving old bread to make it more edible and ate that with peanutbutter.
- Practiced for around two and a half hours because I had nothing else to do and I guess that's what i'm here for.
- It was then 5 so I went to eat and ran into Jesse the jazz piano player who is really terrible for conversation but he's nice and is into good music so I talk to him.
- I called my dad to see if he still wanted to do anything because I sold him out yesterday to hang out with Loyola kids at cypress hall watching Empire and the new orleans ska revolution duo play.
- The rest of my time has been spent reading blogs. You would be surprised how many blogs there are. Current Music: That Dog - Cowboy Hat

09:59 pm - Paul Baribeau This guy does a fantastic live show. The whole "i'm tired, i suck" thing, then playing awesome, seems like it should get old really fast but It never does, I still fall for it. He played in band with matty pop chart and some other guy and they had really good pop songs that I think everyone enjoyed. Matty pop chart is erin tobey's brother and that by its self is enough to make this an awesome show. Bryan hates paul, i don't know what the deal is, he's just jealous.
I might go on this: http://noladiy.org/summer2006.html with bryan, starting in seattle after school gets out. If i go i'll fly up there and ride back for a month with him and whoever else is there. I think if i actually go it'll be the trip of a lifetime. I've been wanting to go back into that part of the country for a long time. The only thing is that I probably really dont' have the money even if I can come up with it. But, its just, I would probably just spend it on something else if i stayed here anyway. Going on this trip can only make me a happier person.
